Looksmaxxing
There was a guy waiting for one of the machines after me at the gym today. I let him have it and he adjusted the weight a few pounds down and said I was “mogging” him.
I acted like I knew what he was talking about then he was like, do you follow Clavicular? I said no is that a person? He seemed surprised and he said yeah he’s a looksmaxxer and I was like what’s that. No I didn’t say that I said “Ohh okay” like that explained anything. Then I went home and looked it up.
Apparently there’s some incels who are like breaking their jawbones so they can make their faces more attractive and they’re calling it looksmaxxing?
Why did he think that would be something I was into? Do I look like a looksmaxxer? I mean I have been described as “conventionally attractive,” but that’s just good genes (but NOT in a Sydney Sweeney American Eagle white supremacist kinda way). And sure, I put a lot of work into my body, but I kinda thought all trans guys did that or went through a phase like that or something. Look at Elliot Page, he’s shredded.
I am worried about The Youth and the manosphere, influencers like this Clavicular guy or Andrew Tate. Why is incel culture becoming mainstream now? And it’s not just cis guys who are getting roped into this. I saw a young trans guy unironically call himself a “shortcel” on Reddit. 🤮
I wish I would’ve told him that I’m not an incel, I’m working out so I can be healthier for my pregnancy. That would've surprised him.
I hope if I have a boy he will not get into this kinda shit. That's my biggest worry if I were to have a son. Not that I have any gender preference for my child, that would be hypocritical of me.
