Working out so I can be manlier for when I get prengant
Hi fans, welcome to the first post of Knocked Up Dad, I'm Knocked Up Dad. Well, I'm not either of those things yet. But I just need to go off hormones for a bit and then my wife can impregnate me.
But first I need to work out.
Going off testosterone will make me lose muscle, so logically I have to compensate by bulking up, before I get pregnant.
I haven't worked out in years (since the pandemic, when I was just starting to transition). But I don't think it'll be hard. I've always been good at physical things. I used to run - track and cross-country, in high school. I was on varsity, got my letter and everything. (It was mostly because of how there weren't very many young women willing to run the mile or two mile, and I ran both - sometimes all in one day! I was tough back then, not necessarily fast, but tough. But yeah, I would pretty often win, place, or show, because first three places earned points for the team, and there was usually only one or two female distance runners per school.)
And there was also my gym phase, before the gyms shut down for quarantine, when I was pounding creatine and protein shakes and working on my shoulders and arms so I could pass ASAP. (It worked, and it synergized with the mustache so that after masks came off, I rarely got misgendered.) Yeah, that phase was six years ago, but so what? I'll be more determined now that I'm lifting for my future kid!
And I'm not exactly weak. I haul around fifty pound bags of rice from Costco. Sure, usually I have a long rest in between reps, because we have to go through fifty pounds of rice. That takes at least a few days.
Anyway that's what I'm doing now, getting swole for my pregnancy. Because the healthier I am, the healthier the baby will be! I figure some folks might enjoy being along for the ride, so I'll be sharing dad bod progress updates on my blog.
